Happy New Year to you all. I hope that you had a well deserved break and were actually secretly happy to see your students return, rushing around catching up on the latest of everything.

I want to use this week's blog to respond to a request we have gotten from many of you regarding lesson plans for specific topics and exercises that you might use in your residential curriculum discussions. While most of us agree that these conversations are important to establishing important resources and connections in our communities, it is often hard to come up with exciting, creative ideas that will spellbind your students and make your faculty excited about adding this dimension to their already busy schedules.

Here at Durango Institute, we are in the process of creating a series of 45 minute lesson plans on common areas of residential and student life. Please help us by commenting on topics that you would like to see included or topics with which you have had good success. If you have a lesson plan that you would like to share, please mail it as an attachment directly to me at carol@durangoinstitute.com. Check our new Residential and Student Life Curriculum page for a template and description of the areas we are including. (Be sure to suggest one that we have forgotten!

Thanks for your help - we hope to have a good series of lesson plans available by the end of this school year.

Tiffany,
I hope that your baby has arrived safely and soundly. As you can see, we have added an additional workshop on the residential curriculum in January. I am not sure if you can get away yet, but we would love to have you. Bring your husband along to take care of the baby!

Dear Priya,
I trust that you received my email regarding a visit to Woodstock. This can certainly be arranged and I would love to revisit your wonderful school. I look forward to hearing from you.

Good morning,
I was wondering if it would be possible to have a workshop held in our school, located in Mussoorie, India? If so, would it be possible to review the cost of such an affair?
All of the workshops you hold now look quite appealing, and if you are able to come, it might be worth having a couple held during that time.
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi Carol,

We met last year at TABS. I work with Brian Easler at WMA and was a student of Sandy Tattersall's at Peddie.

I was wondering if the Sept workshop is going to be in the New England area or CO. I'm about to give birth and would love to come to the Sept workshop, but if it is in CO, then I think it would be best for me to wait until April.

Please advise.

Many thanks and happy 4th of July!
